At help for women we have a phenomenal team helping us to push the vision of this organization forward. We introduce to you the team that makes it all happen.

Sandra Koomen

Founder, CEO,

Sandra is of Ghanaian descent currently living in The Netherlands. She’s a mother of two and an entrepreneur who owns a salon since 2006 currently run by her daughter who later joined the enterprise. Sandra is a graduate of River Bible Institute Netherlands and leads a women’s home group at her local church.

As a true networker and connecter, she loves God and has a passion to help others, creating and nurturing communities. She is good at locating the jewel in people. Having personally weathered many of life storms, she understands the hopelessness a disappeared woman experiences having to provide for a child and herself without prospects.

She lived undocumented in 4 countries before she moved to The Netherlands after an encounter with God that caused her life to form and stabilise. At age 29 she started training as a hair stylist. Through faith and the help from God she has become a strong woman with a passion to actively help women rise from difficult situations.

In 2012 she received the vision which developed into the foundation of Help for Women.

Paul van Eijden

Co-Founder, Chairman of the Advisory Board,

Paul van Eijden is born in The Netherlands and a married and loving father of five. Paul is a CTO and investor in several startups and Founder of a venture builder company that helps startup businesses. Paul has a God given desire to mentor and help people reach their fullest potential in life using the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) and also a graduate of River Bible Institute Netherlands.
Paul advises the board and ensures that this organization runs like a well-oiled machine. Paul is a crucial part of the Help for Women family

Jiska Doekes

Operational Manager Netherlands, Board Secretary,

Jiska is a mother of four(4) children who is passionate about people and lives, to see people reach their full potential in  all areas of their lives. 
Jiska graduated with 2 bachelor degrees in social working. She was employed as a social worker for 25 years before she started her own company and now serves many families with counseling and support. 
Jiska is also a River Bible institute graduate and believes that her faith in God is essential to everything she does.
Jiska is an integral part of the Help For Women family at all levels.
 
 

Mr. Denis

Head of Finance

Denis, born and raised in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, embodies a multicultural background. With a happy marriage and two children, he decided to embark on a new chapter by relocating to the United Arab Emirates with his family, while maintaining strong ties to his roots by frequently visiting Ghana.
 
Professionally, Denis is a distinguished Dutch Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience in finance and risk management. His career spans various leadership roles in renowned Big4 consulting firms, providing him with a wealth of expertise across diverse industries. Notably, he has dedicated a significant portion of his career to supporting Africa-centered social enterprises and foundations, aiding them in enhancing their internal controls over financial reporting.
 
Denis’s commitment to community service continuous through Help For Women. This initiative reflects his desire to give back to the community that has played a crucial role in shaping his identity. Through this endeavor, Denis aims to contribute to the betterment of Ghanaian women, showcasing his dedication to social responsibility and community development.

Barbara Boakye - Yiadom

Operational Manager Ghana,

Barbara, married with 4 children is an educator in Ghana (Berekum in the Bono Region). She was born in the city but now lives in the village. Living in the village has brought meaning to her life, she now knows and understands how to show the love of God to others by seeing to their physical, spiritual and emotional needs says Babara.

Barbara is running all operations for Help For Woman in Ghana. She is an integral part of the Help for Woman Family.

Daniel Essuah

Media Manager,

Daniel is a Graphic designer who has a heart for training young people to become reputable creatives themselves. Daniel who is of Ghanaian decent, is passionate about continuous learning and literacy; as he believes it provides sustainable solutions that improves the lives of others. This lead him to start his own Graphic company that he now use to provide young individuals with internships. At Help for Women Daniel looks after the website and technical. Daniel is a blessing to the Help for Women Family.
